Becky (M0XXR) has been running (and fundraising for the charity) agan, she is pictured below handing a cheque to Dave (2E0KSF).

This time she raised £300 from sponsorship, the money will be greatly appreciated by the charity and will assist them in providing their valuable service to the community.

Becky (M0XXR) ran the 10k George Munday run for a local charity.

Last year after training 3 to 4 times a week I entered the George Munday 10k race, which is always held on Remembrance Sunday. Before the race I was talking to Dave (2E0KSF) a club member who is involved in a local charity, the West Norfolk Self Advocacy Project, we were discussing how covid had affected their money raising options. With this in mind I decided that I would use my race to raise money for them. With great support from family, work colleagues, friends and of course fellow club members I gained some sponsorship. Training now continued with a bit more purpose as I had even more motivation to run the race.

Race day arrived and I felt ready, it was cold and drizzly at times but a good atmosphere is always there on this day. I completed the race in 1hr 12mins, a steady pace for me which I was pleased with.

Sponsorship monies were collected, thank you all for your support. In total I handed over £200 this was greatly received by the charity.

This year I am now training for Sandringham Half Marathon in June and will be getting the sponsorship forms out again, you have been warned!
